Bullitt Racing has underlined its race-winning potential in every round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup so far this year, and while the Spanish-based squad are a solid third in the championship heading to Monza, the top step of the GT3 podium has, so far, proved elusive.
Fourth position at Paul Ricard, followed by second at Imola and then seventh and third in the Road to Le Mans double-header has yielded 45 points in the close battle for championship honours. With just three rounds remaining, the team know that with a 14-point deficit to its main rival, race wins are now crucial both at Monza and then at Spa Francorchamps to ensure they are in the battle at the Portimao season finale.
The fifth race of the season at Monza is expected to be an event where the characteristics of the #99 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 package will shine. Stephen Pattrick is gaining confidence and pace by the race, while teammate Valentin Hasse-Clot lacks no confidence or pace. As a pairing, they expect twenty-five points from the Italian race.
The first official practice session takes place Friday at 10:30 local time, with further track time at 14:50 and 18:00. Saturday features qualifying at 12:45 and then the race action from 17:10.
Steffan Pattrick, Team Principal
“We are very happy with how the team is performing, working together and we’re hungrier than ever and we want to be on the top step of the podium for the first time this year. We have endured bad luck in some of the rounds and made a few small errors and we have all learned from this.
“Heading to Monza we are confident; know we’ll be as competitive – if not more so – than we have been at prior rounds and now we’re now at the crucial time in the championship where every point will count. We do not underestimate our rivals but are here to win.”
Valentin Hasse-Clot
“We’re halfway through the season, and the team learned a lot, had great results, and today we are in a position where we are fighting for the championship. We are all aware of this and are now ready to give our all. We have only one goal in mind, and for that, we must win!”
